On A Personal Note: My Sincere Apologies

I would like to take a minute to say something to all of you, my faithful readers: It is FOR YOU that I continue this blog. I am humbled by the attention and support this blog has received. I've received numerous emails from you describing hate mail that you have received from the radical liberals on the left out there who have tried to shut down this site.  It seems that people have been getting these emails after leaving a comment here.  This is an attempt by the liberal left to intimidate and bully those who do not share their views, they cannot debate you on the issues, so they resort to these kinds of tactics. I must say to you that I am sincerely sorry. The extent to which the left will go to silence those in support of Sarah Palin and the McCain Palin ticket is astonishing. I completely understand, now, why I am getting your emails instead of your comments here on the site, and I appreciate so much your willingness to put yourself out there. I have disallowed any anonymous comments and I suggest that if you are going to leave a comment here, delete your email from being displayed before you post.

Let me also take this opportunity to thank those Democrats who have come here and respectfully commented on the posts they read. I am not opposed, as some have suggested, to comments from the other side. All I have ever asked is that they be respectful. To my critics, I am not whining here...I just don't like it when my readers receive death threats from your side of the aisle.

Your support, in spite of the threats you have received, has been appreciated more than you know--and just remember this: if we are getting this kind of a response from them for simply voicing our support for Sarah, imagine what she must go through on a daily basis, and please remember her and the Senator in your daily prayers during these remaining weeks of the campaign.

May God richly bless you and this campaign as we press on....GO McCain Palin

I am deeply sorry for any threats your blog or blog readers have received. Things have obviously gotten out of hand here, as they also have in the past few weeks on the campaign trail. Let's hope and pray that the ugly personal attacks stop NOW and the focus returns to issues until the November 4th vote.

On a lighter note, I hope everyone will find the replay (I saw it live on CSPAN) of Senators McCain and Obama speaking at The Alfred E, Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner held tonight at The Waldorf Astoria in New York City. For those of you not familiar with the dinner, it is a charity event, and the long-standing tradition is for each presidential candidate to do a 15 minute stand-up routine of sorts. Both candidates were very funny and even hilarious at times. It was a much needed breath of fresh air. Do yourselves a favor and get silly (if all else fails I'm sure you can find it on You Tube).

Blessings to all.

I agree Brian, that was hilarious--on both sides. :-)

Hi Tami,
You are truly showing your Christian heart when you extend your support to your visitors who have been wronged. That shows you really feel for people; people who are just trying to find a common area to share ideas, support one another and maybe learn some stuff along the way! You reach out because you know how shocking, upsetting, disturbing and scary it is to be the recipient of such hate. I pray for all your readers. I pray for those wronged to show strength and forgiveness to the misguided and angry. I pray that those sending the horrible messages will find Jesus and the glory he brings. I pray they be lifted up, out of the hate.
I wrote one time earlier and encouraged you to debate & discuss respectfully on this site. I feel I must clarify this, as I regret it must have been taken more aggresively than intended. Tami, in no way did I mean you were responsible for the hate posted by the extreme left on this site. I have read the posts. I have encouraged peace and love and respect in ALL people I know, Red or Blue, during this intense political climate. You and your friends should never have such venom thrust your way. You deserve respect. You deserve peace. You deserve love. You deserve happiness. We are all human beings! We are all Brothers and Sisters in Christ! And we all know you don't always agree with all your sisters...am I right, ladies? ;-)
I still encourage ALL people on this site to post respectfully. To anyone who quotes the opposition I say this: Hate HAS to stop somewhere. All it takes is a point of light, right? We all know hate is wrong. I was not intending to blame you Tami, for the fury IN ANY WAY. I apologize if it came across like an attack. I did mean to provoke thought...guilty as charged!
Well, it has been a wonderful honor to disagree politically, yet unite in our common desire to do what we believe is right.
Please remember that not all of us voting for Obama are against you or your beliefs. We care about you and your families and I send you love, peace and happiness.
My Sincere Best to You,
Love and Prayers,
Jen Barnes

Hi Tami-

So I'm writing this more to you personally than as a post.

You should know I've spent a good amount of time on your blog since I saw it highlighted on CNN, and its been quite a ride! At first I was indignant- I couldnt understand how someone would be so committed to Sarah and her candidacy, and wanted to come and 'speak my mind' on my personal beliefs on the subject- I honestly think I came here pretty much to be heard, more than to hear what you had to say.

But then something happened. I was impressed with you because I saw the range of posts that you were willing to put up, even though so many were clearly so different from (or even offensive to) to the beliefs and values that you must hold so dear.

And now (to be honest) this whole thing has just become sad and a little scary... I used to believe that we as Americans are basically good, solid people who can respectfully disagree on issues, and be mature about it all. But what I'm seeing fills me with sadness and a sense of dispair that this ugly side of America exists. I guess maybe I wanted to be naive at 39 years old!

And I'm truly non-partisan in this- I believe fringe elements (and I'd still LIKE to think they are 'fringe' and not more commonplace) exist on any side of just about any issue. BUT I used to think it was a rarity, and this experience is forcing me to face the reality that maybe there's a darker underside to human nature thats more commonplace than I thought.

I tell myself that maybe the most offensive, divisive, hateful posts are kids- teenagers who havent learned respect and recklessly abuse the language; angry college kids with too much time on their hands; people who are bullies hiding behind the cover of anonymity but cowards in person. If thats the case I know its still a terrible commentary on our society but it makes me feel a LITTLE better than if its mature adults perpetuating all this stuff.

So what started out as a wholesome, well-intentioned blog to support someone you believe in seems to have morphed into something else and I'm really sorry to hear that has happened... If its any consolidation I hope you keep the faith in humanity- that the majority of us out here have more in common than we have differences, that we all have basic human qualities that are virtuous, and that we can have really interesting discussions if we keep the emotions and personal attacks out of it.

Anyway, I'm tired and am starting to ramble but just wanted to thank you for your good intentions- what you started out to do and how you handled adversity is admirable. You seem like a nice person, and someone who can have an interesting, civilized discussion. And because of you and your efforts I came here to 'speak my mind' and ended up learning something instead!

I'll be very glad when Nov 5th gets here. My best to you and your family.

Brain, Jen & Scott,
I have to say that in the midst of all this hate and discord, it really brightens my day to read such kinds words of encouragement. Thank you!

Brian,
I'd LOVE to see this video! It sounds hilarious! If you find a link, will you post it? Pretty, please?

M4SP Gals (and John),
I truly appreciate all of the hard work that you have put into this site. You ROCK!

"...Forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead, with this goal in mind, I strive toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
~Philippians 3:13-14

Pressing On,
Christina

P.S. Maybe my emails will stop now? One could only hope...

2CORINTHIANS 12:9 - Pray that the Lord would empower and enable his man in any area of weakness.

II KINGS 13:14 - Pray that the Lord would put His hands on the man of His choice for president (and his team) and guide them in this election.
PROVERBS 1:5-6 - Pray that God's man will listen with discernment, add to his knowledge, and receive wise counsel in this campaign.
JOHN 16:33 - Pray that the man of God's choice would be given wisdom and ability from the Lord to overcome any obstacle or difficulty during this campaign.
ACTS 17:30 Pray for repentance for yourself and for our nation.
LUKE 12:54-57 Pray that God's man and our nation will be discerning and do what is right.

HABAKKUK 1:5 AND 3:2 Pray that the Lord would do something that would utterly amaze us and give His servant victory.
On the morning of the election: Pray that the Lord will give you wisdom and discernment in ALL your election choices.
During the days of Nov 7-11, be encouraged to set aside a time of fasting during these days to commit this election to the Lord in whom WE put our TRUST.
Remember 2 Chronicle 7:14 "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
May God's blessing continue to flow to you and through you.

Tami,

God Bless you for having the courage to create this site and speak your mind. It is refreshing to see something positive said about Gov. Palin and Senator McCain. I have heard so much from the Obama camp about all the negative attack campaign ads that the McCain/Palin campaign supposedly runs. I live in San Antonio, TX and I have only seen or heard one McCain/Palin on TV during this entire campaign and that was Thursday night when Senator McCain appeared on Letterman. I have seen an endless string of negative attack ads from the Obama campaign. Where are the ads from McCain's camp anyway?

It saddens me to see so many Americans blinded by the smooth talking arrogant Obama. He has a Socialist agenda that is very frightening. His associations with left wing radicals is scary. I pray that every eye is opened to see what cannot be seen on the surface. I pray that the veil of deception is lifted and the truth is heard. I pray the Lord will send angels to surround and protect John McCain and Sarah Palin, that they will be strengthened and fortified for the remaining battle before them and that they will prevail in their quest to lead this great country. God Bless you.

im sorry for the threats you have gotten. there is so much hate flying at people this election it is insane. I just left a similar message on William Ayers blog. there are real people that others let the talking points drive them up to a point that they could hate anything.

I think your post is honest and heart felt. however, what i fail to see is a 360 view instead of a 180. It isn't just obama supporters that are filled with hate talk. It is also McCain supporters. I know that only God is perfect but it saddens me at the language that is used from the people who call themselves christians. Do you really know God, do you know his word? Who are we to judge. Aren't we supposed to love one another? shouldn't we be praying for everyone not just one particular group. Republican, democrat are titles,we are human first. Lord I ask that you touch each and everyone in this country and in this world. i ask that you show them love, compassion, humility. show them that our differences are what makes us beautiful. show them that we do not have to hate those who are different and think different. lord i speak peace into existence.in these things i pray. Amen
