Help Lift Up A Wounded Soldier

Forgive my lack of posting here the last few days--our family took some time off to celebrate my daughter's birthday at Disney World! So much has happened this weekend that I cannot wait to research and write about, but in the meantime I wanted to share with you a post I found on Michelle Malkin's blog today...see this link to read about one of our own who needs much prayer and moral support during this most difficult time in his life, PFC Hunter Levine.

Is Michelle Malkin your only source of "researched" material? I'm a dyed in the wool liberal, but I would never use my favorite far left bloggers and radio show hosts as my only source of "facts." I love me some Al Franken, Stephanie Miller, wonkette.com, et al, but they are more entertainment than they are a news source.

Just wondering.

Heather,
Clearly you have not read much of the blog, otherwise you would see the wealth of information contained in it...wouldn't expect that of you though, considering you enjoy Al Franken. That pretty much says it all.
Not that it's any of your business telling me where to get my information.
That's just like a liberal.

Tami,

I think Heather asked a valid question.

She states that she finds Al Franken entertaining, but it sounds as if her opinions are mined from a variety of sources, as are the opinions of most thoughtful people.

To quote columnist Nicholas D. Kristof: "If you only tolerate those you agree with, that’s not tolerance".

Like Heather, I'm just wondering.

Hi Tami,
I love your blog! I first found your blog through the CNN video. I am so glad that you and your friends are lifting up this election in prayer, and in support of McCain and Palin. In the past months I've also created a news/prayer blog for the election and for Sarah Palin. The web address is palinsupport.blogspot.com , I've already linked your blog to my page. Thanks for the great work and God bless you all!

Have you read down the page any? I mean, seriously.
I have hundreds of sources I have cited, and because I post a few posts citing my source as Michelle Malkin, who I realize you all hate....you say my only source is her. Get your facts straight or go elsewhere. No one asked you to come here.

Tami,

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Like you, I am a SAHM and so I appreciate the sacrifice of taking time away from your home and family to manage your blog.

You said: No one asked you to come here.

By publishing a public blog and allowing comments, one does in fact invite (or ask) for feedback.

The first sentence of the paragraph above the comment window says "Please feel free to comment, debate, or ask questions". So when you say "no one asked you to come here", well, actually- you did.

I feel compelled to address some concerns.

You said: ...Michelle Malkin, who I realize you all hate....you say my only source is her...

Actually, I didn't say that, I was following up on Heather's question.

I am concerned, however, with the tenor of the replies to questions found here.

I kindly ask you- how do you know that I'm not a fellow supporter? How do you know that I'm not an undecided voter?

So, in the hopes of reaching some sort of common ground with you, I will reiterate my earlier quote: If you only tolerate those you agree with, that’s not tolerance".

Thanks again for your time.

Lynn,

Allow me to apologize. I shouldn't have jumped down your throat or Heather's. Simply put, it is astonishing the number of people who have come here and read one post and claim my only source is the one in that particular post. I am suspicious that this was the case with Heather. If she had simply taken the time to scroll down the page just a bit, she would have seen mutiple sources listed to the right...and in nearly every post I do list my sources, most of which are NOT Michelle Malkin. They vary. Sure, I have my favorites--Michelle happens to be one of them. I also tend to send my readers to blogs or websites that have already written something I planned to write--saving myself some time and giving them alternative reading sources.

I don't care which side of the aisle any of us are on-I can tell you this: NEVER has one person posted a comment here that suggested violence against a Democrat. I ask that you scroll down the page, find the posts with HUNDREDS of comments listed under them. I have offered much here in the way of dissenting opinion--often very violent dissenting opinion. I didn't have to allow that. I have been thanked dozens of times for allowing both sides to comment. Do I NOW choose not to post every comment? Sure I do. That's my right, it's my blog, and many of my readers who were commenting positively here were being threatened. Did I invite you here? No, but I am certainly happy you stopped by. I just ask a little respect be given. We may not write about things you wish to read, but this blog is for those who do wish to know more about Sarah, and those things in the campaign that involve her. To have so many people whining about it not being fair about their comment not being heard, or sources they don't like or whatever....it's all quite disingenuous, and a huge waste of time. I cite many sources here, I would venture to say well over 100...so, I do not appreciate your earlier suggestion that I am intolerant of the other position. It's simply a lie. If you would take the time to read this site in it's entirety or at least a large portion, you would find that your comment is absolutely unfounded. Do I allow those with dissenting opinions to do posts here? NO! This is a pro-Sarah Palin blog! Of course not! But I have allowed probably over 1,000 of them to comment here.

If you are undecided, I am sorry to hear that. I am not sure how anyone in this political climate could be 'undecided'. The facts and issues at hand are so polar opposite that- with all due respect- for one to be undecided must be very unsettling, because it would mean the person is a terribly confused person.

So, Lynn, thank you for your thoughtful post. I appreciate you sharing your opinion here.

Hi Tami, I hope you are well!

I'm getting all caught up on your blog since I've been one with the couch while recovering strep throat *and* a nasty sinus infection this week.

It astounds me that any "dyed in the wool" liberal would even take the time to glance at your blog, let alone comment on it and question your sources! As if you are a major news outlet. LMBO!!!! Who says you have to be fair and biased? The MSM isn't, so why should you be in your personal blog that supports conservative beliefs? That is just crazy, but seems to be typical of liberals who expect EVERYTHING anyone says or writes to encompass everyone's beliefs (except that of Compassionate Conservatives-- oh no, THAT would be wrong!).

The very fact that liberals like Heather and Lynn are on your site is weird but whatever. Perchance they can't seem to admit that they are very interested in the Sarah Palin phenomena that has redefined feminism for this generation. That they have the ovaries to post snide comments is akin to me lurking on wonkette.com and then pouncing on a post about an Iraqi soldier who is recovering from a war injury, telling wonkette (whoever the eff that is) to reference more diverse sources!

And it still blows me away that there are women and men, like my husband who is a former Marine, willing to die to protect the rights of Americans like Heather and Lynn to leave snide comments on your free speech blog. I think you deserve some sort of award for being a new media heroine for us conservatives! I could not do it. I would just DELETE, DELETE, DELETE.

"No one asked you to come here" was a great response because it was truthful. No one did. Yes you invited them to comment once they were here, but that ass-u-me'd they would have the decency to behave as a guest in someone's home. Liberals choose to hit your page-- if only to be trolls and show us what they are really like-- but if they don't like what they see, they can CLICK OFF.

Well, I know I am behind but better late than never, right?
Love, "Mother Liberpublican"
