It's Time To Fix The Blame

Most everyone knows that Congress is considering a 700 billion dollar bail out bill.  What most everyone seems to be ignoring is that we stand on the precipice of a nationalized credit market.  The short title of the bill grants authority to the Secretary of the Treasury to ensure domestic prosperity—an unprecedented assumption of power.  The United States Constitution provides for the promotion of the general welfare but, in no wise, assumes a duty to ensure economic prosperity for all of its citizens.  This distinction may seem trivial.  But, to the observant, it is a shift in political doctrine of vast proportions.  In these troubled days, the principals of free enterprise and capitalism seem remote and antiquated.  It seems expedient to trade a bit of freedom for security.  And so, the dread slide down the slippery slope begins.  Only capitalism can provide the fuel to power democracy.  Apart from capitalism, we are doomed to plod down the road to serfdom, as F.A. Hayek would say. 

 Other nations have pursued political models different from ours, based on philosophical models that are the antipodes of American capitalism.  The left has assumed a socialist model, a watered down version of Karl Marx’s collectivism.   For the uninformed, Marx is the father of Communist theory.  Economic, political, and religious thought is inextricably intertwined and interdependent.  Therefore, the economic ideas of collectivism, centralized planning, and state control of the means of production necessitate a particular political structure to bring to realization collectivist economic theory.  That political structure is, by necessity, hostile to religious thought.  In particular, Christian theology is uniquely intellectual and, therefore, poses a threat to collectivist secularism.  The commonality in collectivist societies is striking—note the monolithic nature of the arts in collectivist cultures.  It is by nature anti-intellectual, since the free expression of ideas is corrosive to the enforcement of social and political uniformity.  One need only look to Russia, China, Cuba, and North Korea to understand the ramifications of communal political and economic dogma.   Why then does the left, represented by the Democratic Party, propose to adopt a bill whose sole purpose is the socialization of our credit markets?   Interestingly, Marx’s Communist Manifesto presses for just such a state of affairs, “Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.”  The similarity of the liberal left’s tactics to those employed in totalitarian states is chilling.  The left is enamored of socialist dogma and seeks to crush any competing arguments as hostile to the enforcement of their collectivist goals.   The left responds with rabid fury to any bold enough to question their dogma, since open political debate threatens the weakness of their intellectual totalitarianism.  This is why many Hollywood play actors and clowns foam and gnash with rolling eyes when challenged, and the mainstream media pundits sputter with rage when ignored by conservative politicians.  The left replaces honest reporting and debate with propagandizing.  Any notion of truth is readily sacrificed in support of socialist dogma.  And, social strife and destabilization are sought by the propagation of class envy.  “The immediate aim of the Communists is the same as that of all other proletarian parties: Formation of the proletariat into a class.” (Karl Marx, The Communist Manifesto)  Finally, the position of the liberal left mirrors collectivist ideology on taxation where a “heavy progressive or graduated income tax” is sought. (Karl Marx, The Communist Manifesto)

 So, the issues surrounding the supposed mortgage and credit crisis are shrouded in a cloud of revisionist rhetoric, propounded in torrents by the liberal left (read--Democrats).  In 2006, the Dow Jones Industrial Average sat at 12,400 as the Democratic Party took power in Congress.  Today the DOW hovers at 10,000.  Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have been presided over by liberal democrats (Barney Frank and Chris Dodd), which were used as a tool of liberal social engineering, creating the debacle in the credit market today.  Meanwhile, the Republican Party has fought to reign in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, thwarted at every turn by the stern opposition of liberal democrats, seeking to impose their socialist agenda.  Currently the Republicans in congress are fighting to block the socialization of our nation’s economy.  Interestingly, while the country is in such an allegedly precarious position, Congress is taking a couple of days off.  This current debacle would never have occurred without the presence of ill-informed, socialist government policies.  Some finger pointing needs to take place, so we can accurately assess where our government went wrong.  The failed policies of the socialist left are responsible for the flood of sub prime mortgages, which were doled out to individuals based on ethnic criteria and not based on credit worthiness.  Barney Frank (House head of the Banking Committee) and Chris Dodd (Senate head of the Banking Committee), both Democrats, shoulder the burden for this socialist disaster.  At every turn, Democrats, with their failed socialist policy, bear the blame for our current economic difficulties.  

 The solution is for the people to speak, to elect John McCain and Sarah Palin who will bring real change to Washington.  The change we need involves the destruction of the left’s liberal socialist policy and a reapplication of conservative ideals.  Those who oppose the destruction of liberal socialism are, by definition, un-patriotic.  The following roll of shame assigns the blame for our current debacle on the parties who properly bear the responsibility.

 Roll of Shame:

  •  Bill Clinton (Democrat): Enabled the propagation of liberal economic policy on an  unprecedented scale
  •  Janet Reno (Democrat): Threatened banking industry with investigation for not making  enough sub prime loans to minorities
  •  Chris Dodd (Democrat): Senate head of Banking Committee, directly responsible for  oversight
  •  Barney Frank (Democrat): House head of Banking Committee, directly responsible for    oversight
  •  Nancy Pelosi (Democrat): House majority leader
  •  “Dingy” Harry Reid (Democrat): Senate majority leader.  Also, stated to his everlasting  shame: “this war is lost.”
  •  Franklin Raines (Democrat): Ran Fannie Mae into the ground and left with a 90 million  dollar "golden parachute". This guy now advises Barack Hussein Obama on financial  matters.

One MAD Mom, Part 2

Nearly one month ago I started this blog out of anger, frustration, and a lot of passion. I woke up on the 30th of August to what was the beginning of the barrage of attacks on Sarah Palin and her family and decided I had to do something.

For far too long, conservative women across America have been silent. Really, if we’re being honest, we’ve been pretty wimpy. Most of us have been content to go about our daily lives being relatively silent on political issues for fear of offending someone or rocking the boat, while the opposition is out there screaming for their “rights”--thinking nothing of killing unborn or partially born babies, among other things.

I’m not suggesting that we have done nothing at all. I know in my own case, I prayed for our leaders, I wrote letters, I supported my party financially sometimes, I definitely voted....I did the stuff BEHIND the scenes. Those things ARE important, don’t misunderstand. However, I am getting tons of e-mails from women all over the country admitting that they are afraid to put a sign in their yard, that they are afraid to wear a political t-shirt, afraid to put a bumper sticker on their vehicle, and most certainly afraid to talk to people about voting! Is that what we’ve come to?? We send our husbands, our brothers, our children off to war to fight for our freedoms, and yet we at home are too chicken to put a sign in our yard or a sticker on our car? Last time I checked, this is a FREE country! YOU and I have a voice, and it’s about time we use it before we lose that opportunity!

I want to list a few names for you that will shed some light on why I am so passionate. U.S. Marine Sgt. James Bailey is my hero, and he’s also my daddy. He and my precious mother Judy, who is now in heaven, taught me in more ways than I can begin to share in one posting, how precious freedom is and that freedom isn’t free. Cpl. Anthony DiCesare, 2nd Lt. Dale Allen, LCpl Charles Gattis, SSgt Donald Hamilton: these four men died on June 27, 1967 as they tried to save my father’s life during a major fire fight on a hill in the jungles of Vietnam. Many more fought and did save my father’s life, several receiving medals for their heroic actions that day. Like John McCain, it was years before my father chose, reluctantly, to discuss what happened to him so long ago--but I always knew about those brave heroes who died so that my father could come home. Those men and women in the U.S. military are cut out of a different mold than the Barack Obama’s of today. You see, men like my daddy and John McCain, they KNOW what the cost of freedom is. They’ve seen it. They’ve lived it. When I hear political leaders like John Kerry, John Murtha, Barack Obama and others make disparaging remarks about our military-especially when we are at war-it makes my blood boil. When I hear Barack Obama go to Europe and, on the world stage, begin to bash his own country, it is disgusting, and I would go so far as to say that I think it’s an act of treason. (which is defined as “a violation of allegiance to one’s sovereign or to one’s state; the betrayal of a trust or confidence; a breach of faith) My brother also did 2 tours with the U.S. Marines in the Iraq war, and those very close to me fight on the front lines in the war on terror here at home every day. Have you ever taken the time to go visit a Veteran’s Hospital? My father has been in one many times in recent years, and visiting there is one of the most humbling experiences of my life. You see, freedom is not free--and in a place like that you are reminded everywhere you look. Every day men and women give their lives so that you and I can have the right to sit at home and do nothing, or DO SOMETHING. They fight so that you and I can be free. They fight so that those who would silence us have the right to speak. They fight so that our children can have a future.

I, for one, am SICK of seeing so many conservative Republicans sit on the sidelines waiting for someone else to pick up the bullhorn. I am so proud of our Republicans and Democrats today in the House that finally, for once, stood up for the people. It’s about time! I encourage you to write your Congressman and thank them...let them know you noticed, if they voted the way you wanted them to vote. They need to know we ARE watching and the we DO care, and that we DO notice when they actually DO something.

My motivation now for this blog is those of you out there, whether you’re a mom or not, who realize that IT’S TIME! We have been silent long enough! I am tired of those liberals that come here to read and threaten to silence me! I am tired of being walked all over, whether it’s in the media or in government or by people who are too wimpy to speak up! That is certainly your right, but when things don't go the way you hope they do, don't bother complaining if you did nothing.

Alexander Hamilton once said, “Those who stand for nothing, fall for anything”. Are you guilty, as I have been? Have you ever taken a stand? Do you care about the future of this country? If you do, then it’s about time you started speaking up. It’s about time we all started speaking up. What in the world are we waiting for?

During this election year let's be reminded of these words:

* You cannot help the poor, by destroying the rich.
* You cannot strengthen the weak, by weakening the strong.
* You cannot bring about prosperity, by discouraging thrift.
* You cannot lift the wage earner up, by pulling the wage payer down.
* You cannot further the brotherhood of man, by inciting class hatred.
* You cannot build character and courage, by taking away men's initiative and independence.
* You cannot help men permanently, by doing for them what they could and should, do for themselves.

It matters not who wrote them...wise words, indeed.

Removed Poll

Well, girls, since some Dems have nothing better to do than stroll the internet looking for places to cheat, I took the poll off that asked who won the debate. In just 2 hours over 200 dems voted, or someone figured out a way to vote multiple times. It's not worth drawing them here...these are not people who want the truth, these are people who cheat in elections. Thanks to all who honestly voted, whether it was for Obama or for McCain. I appreciate your participation. We know who won the debate anyway, so I guess there's no point in asking, right?  Now, back to the real purpose for this site---supporting Sarah, and having a blast doing it!

We have a clear choice to make on November 4th. We have two very different opinions being represented: one, on the side of life. John McCain and Sarah Palin have a clear and consistent record on the pro-life issue. Their opponents have a clear and consistent record also, which sides with those choosing to take life, thus calling themselves pro-choice. 

The record is clear, and the decision rests with you and I, the voter.

I really hope that Republicans and others intending to vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin won't let the Democratic nominee for the highest office in the land BULLY them into voting, based on race OR legal threats.  Seems ANYTHING said that is critical of Obama is what he considers a lie, even though there is solid evidence to back up what's being said. (I have been accused of lying on this site when simply using his MIDDLE name!)

Perhaps our girl Sarah should take notes and follow suit. The things being said about her by the Obama campaign and his friends in the blogoshpere are PROVEN to be lies. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, right?

Thanks once again, Obama, for the motivation. The more you make a fool out of yourself pulling these stunts, the more you motivate those of us already in the McCain/Palin camp and those who were on the fence. GREAT job rallying the troops!

Women and the GOP

On September 16, 2008, Dr. Laura Schlessinger wrote a post on her blog entitled "Do Women Fare Better With The GOP?".  I thought it was an excellent observation!

"Barack Obama and Joseph Biden are both fishing for the women’s vote - especially disenchanted Hillary Clinton feminists. Biden has insisted that Republicans, including Sarah Palin, represent a step backwards for women.

But when you look at the labor market data from the Census Bureau (as Professor Casey Mulligan of the University of Chicago has in a new study), to figure out “the amount and reasons for women’s progress in the labor market since the 1960s” something very interesting is revealed. (Wall Street Journal 9/12/08).

In 1988, the last full year of Republican Ronald Reagan’s administration, wage growth for women working full-time throughout the year improved by 8.3% from the end of the Democratic administration of Jimmy Carter. “Johnson, Carter, and Clinton were all Democrats, yet none of them witnessed much labor-market progress for women during their administrations: eight years of Reagan, four years of George H.W. Bush, and six years of George W. Bush.” The Nixon-Ford administrations were the only Republican administrations that didn’t make it to this list of forward momentum for women.

In the Quarterly Journal of Economics, August, 2008, Professor Mulligan and Yona Rubenstein (from Brown University) calculated the statistics that showed women’s annual wage growth relative to men’s:

Under Republican administrations, women’s annual wage growth relative to men was .0.87% under George W. Bush, 1.4% under George H.W. Bush, and 1.6% under Ronald Reagan. Under Democratic administrations, women fared less well. Their annual wage growth relative to men was 0.21% under Bill Clinton, 0.04% under Jimmy Carter, and minus 1% under Lyndon Johnson.

I like that color lipstick, especially if the kids are grown or Daddy is home with the kidlets."

Bailout Agreement Reached?

Well, the Democrats have strolled out together smiling. (sigh)

Harry Reid (D) spoke first and credited Nancy Pelosi (D). Since we cannot believe pretty much anything he says, the results remain to be seen. The last time it was announced by the Democrats that an agreement had been reached, they were lying. 

Rep. Blunt (R) stepped to the mic next and confirmed that VERBALLY they did reach an agreement, but that it remains to be seen if the wording will be such ON PAPER that the Republicans can sign on. I applaud the Republicans for standing their ground...it's about time. Barney Frank (D) began talking next (grrrrr), so I promptly turned the channel.  

They expect to announce the final decision tomorrow. 

**UPDATE: The "Mother of All Bailouts" bill should reach the floor Monday, says Barney Frank. So, all the "the sky is falling" reports last week about the impending doom of our financial markets if a deal wasn't reached by Friday? Hmmmm....

What REALLY Happened In That White House Meeting on Thursday?

With rumors, lies and confusion flying all over the place with regard to that now infamous "White House Leadership Meeting" on Thursday afternoon, several insiders are weighing in. 

Here are a few article links to help you figure out what really went on. You may find it quite interesting, since what you are hearing in the mainstream media is something quite the opposite. 

What's going on now is anybody's guess. On FOX News today, I heard one reporter say that "all Blackberry's have been confiscated from members in the closed door meetings" and that "Democrats are freaking out". Reports also indicate that, while the same number from each party were to show up for the negotiations, Democrats showed up with 9 while 2 Republicans came as was previously determined. 

Getting Involved

I just had the best time this afternoon! I needed to go down to the McCain Victory office to deliver a few t-shirts and I met some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting since I've lived in this area. I know sometimes it's intimidating to think about helping a campaign. Maybe, like  I have felt in the past, you think you aren't qualified, or time is limited. Whatever your reason, I am here to assure you that YOU ARE qualified! If you are a registered voter and have the desire to help the McCain/Palin campaign, they would LOVE to have your help! You can make phone calls, get handouts and instruction on where to canvas...whether you have one hour or an entire Saturday, if you have the willingness to help, they have a job for YOU! I left that office more motivated than EVER to do my part! If you don't have but a minute, drop by and thank the volunteers that are there for their tireless efforts. It's a great way to meet like minded people and have fun doing so! I cannot stress enough that THIS is the time, more than ever before in our nation's history, to GET INVOLVED.

On Sarah

I'm going to step out on a limb here, and share something I have been troubled about these last few days.....

I am in no way being critical of Sarah Palin, I love her and I think she is doing an awesome job out on the campaign trail- in spite of the constant ambushes by the media. (after all, I have dedicated this entire blog to the support of this remarkable woman!) However, having said that, I think we are not seeing all of Sarah out there in some of these interviews. I don't know what's holding her back or who is holding her back, but from everything I have seen and read we are not seeing as much of that 'pitbull in lipstick' as I hope we'll be seeing in the coming weeks! (and we've seen some pretty awesome stuff so far!!) Perhaps she is holding back until the debate, and if so--YOU GO GIRL! It's time to be blunt and call things as you see 'em! I know you have it in you--you proved that long ago!

Go get 'em Sarah! We are behind you 1,000%! 

The First Presidential Debate

The debate this evening merely served to highlight the fundamental differences between John Sidney McCain and Barack Hussein Obama.  McCain argued for smaller government, cutting taxes, and aggressive military policy.  Obama argued for bigger government, higher taxes, socialized medicine, the socialization of the economy, and proposes the invasion of an ally in the war on terror--Pakistan.  Quite simply put, a vote for John Sidney McCain is a vote for our traditional Republican form of government and capitalism, which has given us the highest standard of living in the world.  A vote for Barack Hussein Obama is a vote for a Marxist form of government and a socialist economy which has mired nations in poverty and tyranny.  Take your pick, the issue is simple: are you a patriot or a subversive?

MichelleMalkin.com reports that Lindsay Graham "told Fox that the Mother of All Bailouts includes a reported $100 million more in funding for the left-wing housing entitlement thugs and heavily tax-subsidized fraudsters at ACORN. Under the original bailout proposal, apparently, a large portion of any repayment of the $700 billion would go to Barack Obama’s good friends at ACORN with a smaller allocation to debt repayment. For Those Who Leave Comments

I write this blog for me, and for those millions of moms out there who feel the same way I do. I write this blog for those young people out there who DO think for themselves and want to make a difference in this world. I love that our incredible Republican men are man enough to enthusiastically support Sarah Palin. I am very proud to say I haven't heard the sexist remarks in the media coming from OUR side of the aisle. Thank you to all of you who come here to read, I am humbled and grateful for your support and encouragement!

What I find humorous and really quite pathetic are all the lunatics on the left who come here looking for ammo, and who leave comments--comments that yes, I will read, but I will not allow to stay posted. If you wish to leave comments on this blog, liberals, help yourself. All I ask is that you not use profanity, that you not use my God's name in vain, and that you use the facts. I don't use the tabloids as my source, and I would hope that you have sense enough to refrain from doing the same. My goal is that maybe I can help some of you to see that what YOU are hearing in the mainstream leftist media are not the facts, and I am doing my best to find out what they are and post as many as I have time to post. If you are coming here just for a laugh, help yourself, but you will NOT use this as a platform to blaspheme God, or spread your lies. This is a forum for those who support Sarah Palin, and that is what it will remain.

Just Another Day!

I’ve gotta tell ya...I don’t know about you, but I’m havin’ fun! This campaign has given me a whole new energy with respect to politics, and I am hearing that from lots of women all over the country! Let us not grow complacent though, we have a lot of work to do between now and November.

Before Sarah Palin entered the picture, I’d been to one other political rally in my life, and that was for Ollie North, many years ago in Virginia. Before Sarah, I voted and my husband and I occasionally gave a donation to our party. Other than that, I was a hands off conservative content to stay in the background quietly supporting my candidate. However, when John McCain shocked us all with his announcement of Governor Palin last month, this became a whole new ballgame for me. I’d never really cared whether a woman was put on the ticket or not, but when it happened, that was just icing on the cake! I like Sarah Palin, first, because she is a Christian conservative. Second, I like her because she says what she means and you'd better believe she means what she says! You know what you are getting with Sarah Palin! Third, I like her because of her story. She IS someone I can relate to, not an elitist snob (among other things). Sarah Palin worked hard to get where she is today, and I LOVE, fourthly, that she doesn’t pander to the media. I could go on listing my reasons, but you get my drift. I have NEVER seen my conservative Republican friends and family this pumped over a political campaign of any kind! I was asked at the rally on Sunday, “weren’t you for Hillary?” NO!!! I was NOT for Hillary! I don’t care who leads this country: black man, white man, Hispanic man, black woman, white woman, whoever....just give me a true conservative who is going to govern with the principles on which this country was founded and I will vote for them every time. A true conservative is hard to come by these days, and with all the mess that has been made of our government, you might think Americans would connect the dots. The truth is, I think Americans ARE connecting the dots, and come November 4th I guess we’ll find out. (we need to rid ourselves of the Democratic majority) The awesome thing is, my Country is still the greatest country on Earth.  I love her more today than ever before, and I am VERY proud to be an American. 

I want to share something else I found about Sarah today; something that makes me like her even more, thanks to
MSNBC. (Losers that they are!) In doing some research, I came across an article posted on HotAir.com that linked to an article entitled “The ‘Lost’ Palin Files”, written by Jim Popkin of NBC news. Clearly written as a smear of Sarah, he tells of how small Wasilla really is and belittles Sarah for all the personal notes she wrote to the residents there. One note, however, was written to the editor of a San Fransisco newspaper after federal judges ruled, in 2002, that reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools was unconstitutional because of the phrase “under God”. Sarah’s letter to the editor said the following: “Dear Editor: San Fransisco judges forbidding our Pledge of Allegiance? They will take the phrase ‘under God’ away from me when my cold dead lips can no longer utter those words. God Bless America.”

One other note about a stellar member of Congress. Alcee Hastings, a black Democrat from Florida (I’m sorry to say), was speaking to an audience hosted by the National Jewish Democratic Council yesterday, and he said this about Sarah Palin: “anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks.” So, what are you saying Mr. Hastings? If I own a gun or hunt, I am dangerous to Jews and blacks? To read the whole story, click here. Besides needing a lesson in how to properly speak English, Mr. Hastings needs to learn how to keep his racism in check.

The Real Issue

"The Laws of Nature and of Nature's God...."  These words were immortalized on July 4, 1776 by the Second Continental Congress in the Declaration of Independence.  Two hundred and thirty two years later, we are confronted by choices that will determine the future character of our nation.  One choice will lead us on a path parallel to that laid forth by our forefathers, the other will draw us down a divergent path, littered with history's political detritus.  The political choices that we are confronted with are embodied in the Republican and Democratic parties of the 2008 Presidential election. The Republican model pays homage to the principals that underlie our political heritage and the personal rights we have come to enjoy so freely.  In general terms, the Republican party supports the ideals of limited government, capitalism, and religious tolerance that form the backbone of the American tradition.  This tradition is based on Biblical principles: the presupposition that God is and that He has spoken. On this critical assumption, the entire structure of our Republic stands.  Without this foundation the Republic will totter and crumble into the dust of history.  Apart from its Christian foundations, no conceptualization of personal rights can withstand the humanist onslaught of totalitarian intellectual homogeneity.  This dependence on intellectual uniformity is at the heart of liberal hysteria and hate: evidenced in the brutalization of Sarah Palin's character. Liberal theory has no viable answer to the conservative model.  So, the hate mongers resort to ad hominem attacks, spurred by their desperation and intellectual impotency.  The Democratic party IS the embodiment of humanistic ideals, invested in the expansion of human government, which necessitates socialist control over matters economic.  At the heart of humanistic socialism is the idea that human government is the ultimate authority and, as history proves, tends to devolve into totalitarianism.  As the internal controls of conscience are slowly eroded, democracies tend toward anarchy.  Without the constraining influence of a religiously informed conscience, the state is forced to encroach further upon liberties to ensure public safety.  This is the root of tyranny.  This is the legacy of the modern Democratic party, rooted in humanism's principals.  The choice is clear.  The Republican candidates represent the traditions and ideas that have granted us over two hundred years of freedom.  The Democratic party's candidates represent the humanistic socialism that will continue to erode our freedoms until there are none left, giving way to an eventual tyranny.  These are the real issues in this election year.  We must decide this year if we will continue to "hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness--That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men."  Or, will we barter away our birth right for a slick liberalism, promising a golden utopia shaped in the image of man?

Rolling Stone Magazine May Show Up In YOUR Mailbox!

FYI- according to an article posted on MichelleMalkin.com, you or your young person may receive a free, unsolicited issue of Rolling Stone Magazine in your mailbox. The latest issue features Sarah Palin once again, in an article entitled "The Lies of Sarah Palin", and they seem to be targeting our young people, filling their heads with all the latest garbage the left has launched against Governor Palin--all lies. 

In case you are the recipient of one of these magazines, one of Michelle's readers has this advice: "Advise your readers to mark in big, block letters (use a black Sharpie pen if you have one), across the front of the unsolicited Rolling Stone magazines received: REFUSED. Place the marked item back into the U.S. Mail, at any mailbox including your own, and the USPS will return the magazine to the publisher, at the publisher’s cost in postage."

Calling ALL Pro-Lifers: IMMEDIATE Action Needed!

The Department of Health and Human services (HHS) has recently proposed regulations which protect the conscience rights of health care workers. Over the last 35 years, three laws have been passed which offered this type of protection for health care professionals. Yet the regulations have never been implemented. As is the policy when regulations are proposed, there are a certain number of days during which anyone can submit comments to the administration. The deadline for submitting comments is Thursday, September 25, 2008.

Those who support abortion have been flooding HHS with their comments, so it is very important that the pro-life community show their support and appreciation for these regulations and urge the HHS Secretary Michael Leavitt to implement these regulations. Comments from citizens need only be 1-2 sentences to show our support for these protections for pro-life medical personnel.

McCain is temporarily suspending the campaign over the bailout and requests that the debate be postponed. He is heading back to Washington so that he can vote on, as Michelle Malkin puts it "the mother of all bailouts".

How this plays out will be interesting to watch.

Some Thoughts

Have you been watching the news the last two days? Do you continue to notice how the media focuses on John McCain, Sarah Palin, and Barack Obama-mostly comparing Palin and Obama? I just find it to be incredibly humorous that they continue to battle against our VP candidate. Clearly, Obama doesn't hold a candle to either of our candidates.

Yesterday, Governor Palin met with Afghan President Hamid Karzai,  Columbian President Alvaro Uribe, and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger-a veteran of foreign policy who served under both the Nixon and Ford administrations . Today, she will meet with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. She and Senator McCain will also be holding joint meetings with the Presidents of Georgia, Ukraine and India. I find it equally as amusing that Gov. Palin has not allowed the media to listen in on these discussions, giving them just the place of importance they deserve. 

In an explanation of the meetings, Wall Street Journal reported this in an article by Elizabeth Holmes:

"As foreign leaders gathered in New York for sessions of the United Nations General Assembly, Gov. Palin discussed national security and energy policy with the presidents of Afghanistan and Colombia...Gov. Palin also received a briefing from the Bush administration's Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which a campaign spokesperson said was standard procedure for all presidential and vice presidential candidates. Gov. Palin's senior foreign-policy adviser, Steve Biegun, and Sen. McCain's foreign-policy director, Randy Scheunemann, accompanied her in the meetings. Mr. Biegun said the goal of the day wasn't for Gov. Palin to offer 'specific policy prescriptions. She was largely listening, having an exchange of views,' Mr. Biegun said.' And [she was] also very interested in forming a relationship with people she met with today.' When asked if the meetings made her more prepared to be vice president, Mr. Biegun said, 'She's already fully prepared to be vice president.'"

The coming weeks are going to be tough. We will hear and see things happen that we have perhaps never seen in a political campaign. The left seems to be taking this to a whole new level and we need to be fully prepared. Be aware, know the FACTS, and know when early voting starts (if it is available in your state)...encourage everyone you know to get to the polls EARLY. Like never before girls, every single vote CAN and WILL make a difference. It's time to hold the Democratic majority and their friends in the media accountable by voting Republican across the board on November 4th or before. Once again, if the McCain campaign is going to be in your state, I highly recommend you take the time and effort to go and support them. It is a wonderful, exciting, free, and incredibly FUN event for the entire family! Explanation of the Financial Crisis

Many liberals like to point the finger at President Bush, but I will leave you with this thought: (more to come later) which branch of government is responsible for financial matters? You guessed it...NOT the Executive Branch. The Legislative Branch is responsible. So, blaming the President is a moot point. Can't do it. When the Democrats took over the House and Senate, the DOW was at 12,500. It is now below 11,000, a drop of about 15% in 2 years. Gas prices have increased a whopping 68%. The unemployment rate has raised from 4.6% to 6.1%, a 33% increase. What's changed?  Rep. Barney Frank (D-Ma) and Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Ct) took control of the House and Senate Banking Committees.  Rep. George Miller (D-Ca) and Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Ma) took over their respective Labor Committees.  Rep. John Dingell (D-Mi) and Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) became chairs of the Energy Committees.  So, you tell me. Who do YOU think is responsible?

The Sarah Palin Rally

The rally at The Villages on Sunday, the 21st of September was unlike anything I have ever experienced. As I said last evening, we arrived on Main St. to get in line for the secure area (just in front of the stage and behind the stage) about 9 a.m. We waited in that line for about 3 hours, and during that time met some wonderful people. I was amazed at the diversity of the crowd. In front of us were a large group of University of Florida students, all with handmade signs in support of Palin-and boy, were they an enthusiastic group! Just behind us were several mother/daughter pairs, some older, some younger. I met single girls that had come alone, I met elderly couples and families, Democrats that will be voting Republican for the first time in their lives, Republicans and Independents! I was so encouraged with what I saw! If you want to be energized like you never have been for your party, I encourage you to attend an event such as this! We got into the secure area around 12:00 p.m. and stood in the sweltering heat for another 4 1/2 hours. We were very blessed to be among the first people in the gates, securing a spot just behind the barriers where we would later see Sarah. During our wait we heard from several state and local politicians, Aaron Tippin sang a few tunes, and finally Governor Palin and her family arrived. My first impression of Sarah was this: she is a strikingly gorgeous woman. I thought she was pretty before, but in person she is even more beautiful-the pictures do not do her justice. She first said her hello’s and then handed a microphone to her daughter Piper who was as adorable as ever and thanked the crowd for a fun visit to FL! (they had been to Disney on Saturday) Sarah then recognized all military personnel, both past and present, and gave a wonderful speech which I am sure many of you got to see on the news. The crowd, estimated to be between 60,000 and 70,000 people (by the way, there were approximately 2,500 people at Biden's event in Jacksonville), was energetic and constantly chanted Sa-rah! Sa-rah! It was a blast! After her speech, she exited the stage right in front of us and began shaking hands and giving autographs. Although we got to shake her hand and get two hats autographed, we never got to speak to her. The crowd began going crazy when they realized she was giving autographs, and we were getting crushed...so my hubby grabbed me and our daughter and we elbowed our way out!

Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we'd do it again in a heartbeat. I am more convinced than ever that John McCain made a very wise choice in Sarah Palin and that she is most certainly going to shake things up in Washington! I have seen, on other websites, the crowd in FL being made fun of for standing so long in the heat waiting for Sarah and for chanting her name. As for chanting her name, I guess those people have never been to a political rally. We were all about to pass out from the heat and we began chanting her name to let them know we wanted to see HER! The campaign graciously gave out water as fast as they could, and it seemed that they got her there as quickly as they could. As for the long wait, I can only speak for myself when I say that our family wanted to hear Sarah speak because she stands for everything we believe in. We wanted to be a part of what will be a historical event when she becomes the first female VP of the United States. She is about as genuine as it gets, and we were thrilled that we, along with our 9 year old daughter,  got to be some small part of this memorable occasion.

**As a side note, I read on News Busters where CNN again criticized Palin for using a teleprompter during her speech at the Villages. I don't know where they get off criticizing anyone for using a teleprompter in front of 60,000 people, however, I was about 10 feet from her, and I can tell you this: I don't know where CNN was sitting, but from where I was standing there was no teleprompter usage!!! She had her notes, and she used those! There were teleprompters, but many of us commented that if she was using them, it sure wasn't noticeable to anyone close by! Just thought you'd be interested to hear that from someone who WAS right there and payed attention.
