Some Food For Thought

I have placed this on my blog elsewhere, but thought it deserved a post:

"IT IS NOT THE CRITIC WHO COUNTS, NOT THE ONE WHO POINTS OUT HOW THE STRONG MAN STUMBLED OR HOW THE DOER OF DEEDS MIGHT HAVE DONE BETTER. THE CREDIT BELONGS TO THE MAN WHO IS ACTUALLY IN THE ARENA, WHOSE FACE IS MARRED WITH SWEAT AND DUST AND BLOOD; WHO STRIVES VALIANTLY; WHO ERRS AND COMES SHORT AGAIN AND AGAIN; WHO KNOWS THE GREAT ENTHUSIASMS, THE GREAT DEVOTIONS, AND SPENDS HIMSELF IN A WORTHY CAUSE; AND WHO, IF HE FAILS, AT LEAST FAILS WHILE DARING GREATLY, SO THAT HIS PLACE SHALL NEVER BE WITH THOSE COLD AND TIMID SOULS WHO KNOW NEITHER VICTORY NOR DEFEAT." THEODORE ROOSEVELT

This blog is for Sarah, not me as an individual. This is for all of us who have been in the "silent majority". (as 'Pam' put it in an email supporting this cause)

"THOSE WHO STAND FOR NOTHING FALL FOR ANYTHING." ALEXANDER HAMILTON

We cannot be the silent majority any longer.

Help me with my palin Problems:

1)Faye Palin (mother-in-law) said

"I'm not sure what she brings to the ticket other than she's a woman and a conservative. Well, she's a better speaker than McCain,"

2)Palin said: Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God," she exhorted the congregants. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."

3)"She apparently has difficulty compartmentalizing personal feelings from official acts," said Walter Monegan, who spent 33 years in the Anchorage Police Department - five years as chief - before Palin named him as the state public safety commissioner late in 2006.

Monegan says that - contrary to the governor's assertions - he believes his own firing by Palin in July was the result of his refusal to bow to pressure from her and her family to get rid of the trooper, Palin's ex-brother-in-law Mike Wooten.

4)‘The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively that Sarah’s oldest son, Track, was addicted to the power drug OxyContin for nearly the past two years, snorting it, eating it, smoking it and even injecting it…

“I’ve partied with him (Track) for years,” a source disclosed. “I’ve seen him snort cocaine, snort and smoke OxyContin, drink booze and smoke weed.”

The tabloid also ties Palin to “a notorious local vandalism incident,” which probably refers to the trashing of 44 school buses by some unnamed youths.’

Track is portrayed as the biggest bad boy in Wasilla. A serious drug problem, vandalism, theft, and partying are his main pastimes, allegedly. Which really wouldn't be that remarkable if the Republican party wasn't holding him up as, you know, a role model. If true, this would make the Palins a caricature: the country family with a pregnant teen, son on OxyContin, and a mom desperately trying to present a respectable face to the world. And failing.

Help me!

first of all - according to WHO?? you quote the ENQUIRER as your source of information?? for shame... of course, the media will portray her in this light and gullible left wing extremists like yourself just gobble it all up.

let's say, just for funsies, that her son has dabbled in all of the above... hasn't barack obama HIMSELF shed light on his own past drug use and "partying"????? GET A CLUE PEOPLE. you are willing to sweep everything regarding your messiah obama under the rug while you attempt to pull that same rug out from under sarah palin... you disgust me to no end.

and i am PROUD that sarah is referencing God and the war in iraq - it hearkens back to the principles upon which our country was founded... the greatest, most generous, most influential, most powerful country in the world... by the grace of God!! whether you like it or not, whether you acknowledge it or not, our country is a part of God's plan - we continue to deny Him and reject Him but He continues to be gracious to us. i am SO thankful for sarah palin - she is an inspiration to me and to many and she will be a FABULOUS representative of us in the white house... we will no longer be the silent, subservient majority - strong, conservative women will stand up for our families, our country and our God on nov.4th... you just wait...
