Obamacare

Because the liberal left political machine is in overdrive these days, it's nearly impossible to figure out what issue to place focus on here in the political blogosphere. Overwhelming the public with mountains of paper is a tactic liberals use to confuse and deter honest Americans from knowing what they're actually doing before it's already accomplished. Generally, liberals think people are too stupid to figure things out before they enact a program or pass a bill. They make a joke out of reading the bill, as if it's completely unimportant what's actually in the bill...it only effects all of America, in many cases. CNS News recently posted an article/video in which House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (Democrat from Michigan) is quoted making fun of those who dare to suggest that our elected officials actually read what they are voting on. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (Democrat from Maryland) also had much to say on the issue. To quote Jared McAndersen, it would seem "the only thing lower than the Congressional approval rating is their cumulative I.Q."!

I admit one of the issues I've chosen to steer clear of, for the most part, on this blog is health care. It's unfamiliar territory for me, and therefore, a difficult subject to cover. I realized recently, however, that many people stop by this blog, as they do many others, to find out what the conservative position is on any given matter, and I regret I haven't done more to highlight the truth about what the House and Senate are trying to push through on the health care front. There are many in the conservative movement that have done a fantastic job of informing us:

The Heritage Foundation has been the primary voice, shedding light on what is actually in the bill known as H.R.3200, since those who have been elected by we, the people, seem intent for the most part in keeping their heads in the sand and not informing themselves on what the bill actually contains. (including President Obama) Truth is, it isn't about health care at all. It's about government intrusion into every area of your life and mine. The Democrats, with all their whining, are having a tough time with this bill. They are trying to find a Republican to blame...anybody, from Sarah Palin to Rush Limbaugh to any Senator or Congressman they can attach blame. The truth is, however, that they have the majority in both the House and Senate, and the white house--known as a supermajority. The problem is within their own party, and they can't blame George Bush this time. They know that if they don't have bipartisan support for this bill, they pass it, and the health care system goes to hell, it's on their shoulders. That's the bottom line.

Smart Girl Nation, a conservative online magazine associated with Smart Girl Politics, has also done a terrific job of telling the truth about the health care issue. Visit this link as well, for a host of other sites to educate you on this issue.

To read the Senate version of the bill in part, or in its entirety, follow this link.  You will find it most enlightening. To read H.R. 3200, the bill now being debated behind closed doors in the House, follow this link.

As I dig into this issue myself, I will be blogging about it here. With little knowledge myself of what is actually in the bill, I cannot begin to comment with any degree of certainty on what it contains...and neither can our President. He's flying by the seat of his pants, as I write, at another scripted AARP Townhall meeting. Sounds like he's read about as much of the bill as I have.

I would be remiss, given our usual coverage of fairness in media, or lack therof, if I didn't mention this article in Newsbusters which details for you quite nicely the media coverage on this hot button issue. Bill Maher, in his usual well spoken manner, is all for Obamacare. I don't know about you, but that's all I need to convince me to...ummm, NOT support it?!...

As for other news, I'm sure you know by now that Governor Sarah Palin is now regular citizen Sarah Palin once again...and anything but regular! We congratulate the new Governor of Alaska Sean Parnell, and wish him the very best as he continues to serve. If you missed the farewell address, given by Sarah, you can watch it here on this site. We are excited to see what will come next for the former Governor.

In closing, back to the health care issue, I wanted to leave you with this list of  "5 freedoms you will lose under Obamacare", according to CNN.
  1. Freedom to choose what's in your plan.
  2. Freedom to be rewarded for healthy living, or pay your real costs.
  3. Freedom to choose high deductible coverage.
  4. Freedom to keep your existing plan.
  5. Freedom to choose your doctors.
Tell your Congressman today how you feel about Obamacare. See this link for the contact number for your representative and call today.

Thanks Tami for providing this east link to get ahold of our representatives to vote no on the healthcare bill.

My daughter lives in New York and when she comes home for a week, she slips right in to our family doctor for maintainence...teeth, eye, dermatology..etc. On the public healthcare, she would not be able to do this, she would have to be on a 3 month or longer waiting list.

I know another one of my girls wanted healthcare and thus she sought a job to get it. Where is the incentive for the young people of today, if they know they can live off of the few remaining Americans who have a job? Believe me, free healthcare is NOT free. The lie they are feeding us that we can keep our private insurance is a crock. Canada started out this way and look where they are now. Coming to America for piece of mind and immediate care.

That list of five things you will lose is from Rush Limbaughs show yesterday. You might at least cite your sources so you're not engaging in blatant plagiarism. Those are hefty statements to make when you haven't even read the bill yet, as you say youre just now endeavoring to do. Hhmm, gee, I wonder what conclusion Tami is gonna come too?

I take it you're going to be rejecting Medicare when you're a senior citizen too since it's "government run health care."

ANONYMOUS, if your comment were any more stupid...well, it should have gone to the Bellevue section. However, for sake of humor, I put it here.
I provided a LINK to CNN's web site where the article in which these 5 items are cited are listed for those who are able to actually READ. I'd suggest you take a gander, but clearly you are unable to follow a link, so this is just for everyone else who may read this ridiculous comment and wonder if I pulled that list out of my...ear, or something. (oh, and in case you don't understand HOW to follow a link...on a blog, if something is highlighted when you run your mouse over it, that means you can CLICK on it, and follow the link to the webpage it is linked to.)
That'll be it for Blogging 101 today, folks. Thanks for checkin' in. Nice try, though. I'll have to admit, accusing me of plagiarism was...bright.

Oh, and by the way, ANONYMOUS, just so we're clear...I AM against socialized medicine of any kind, so it's already very clear where I stand on the issue. I am simply stating in this blog post that I haven't yet read the entire 1,000+ page bill, which I do intend to try to do. Our President, and his fellow liberal goons in the House and Senate have admitted they have no intention of even reading the bill...so I guess even I will have a better knowledge of H.R. 3200 by the time I'm finished. I bet I've already read more than any of them have. So, ANONYMOUS, instead of trying to make some personal attack about a mistake you THOUGHT I made, perhaps you could actually weigh in with an intelligent comment about the actual subject! I'm quite certain you are incapable of doing so, but I thought I'd make the suggestion anyway.

House of Brat, you've been banned from this site, but I allowed your comment to make an important point.
First, it has been known for quite sometime that Medicare will be bankrupt by 2018, and I am very young, so Medicare, House of Brat, won't be an option for me. Yep, you're right, it's government run health care...an option Democrats introduced in 1965, courtesy of Lyndon Johnson. The elderly were promised free--yes FREE--healthcare until they died. Now, I don't know if you know any elderly people, but I do, and their healthcare, even with the help of Medicare, is ANYTHING but free. ANY system the government puts its greasy hands into is destroyed, and the creation of Medicare was no exception. So, House of Brat, that won't be an option for me.
But...don't worry. H.R. 3200 will provide us with end-of-life counselors because the pain pill they will offer us, in place of medicare, may not be enough to ease the pain of dying without medical care.

I wish I had gotten those facts from Rush..I really like him. He makes alot of sense and I respect him.

I actually got my facts from a gentlemen from Europe who is pleading with Americans not to do this socialized medicine. If our government hadn't done such a hack job on medicare and m-caid, maybe we would be more open to Obamacare-less.

I like Sarah, Rush, Glenn, Tami and all of the Americans who still dream the dream. I refuse to listen to socialist liberal dems who have nightmares and wake up in cold sweats. Their conversation is elementary, toxic and doesn't make any sense.

Donna,

Thanks!! I appreciate you coming to look. :) The more of us the merrier!!
As for the anonymous comments, that's a LONGGG story that I won't bore you with! ;) Really long story short, a lot of my conservative commenters were targeted back during the election and I ended up having to allow anonymous comments so that they were still able to leave comments....and most stopped, for good reason, and started sending emails to me instead. I felt so bad...but that's the name of the game, I guess.
Thanks so much for commenting...please come back anytime, and if I can't follow your link (which I will try in a minute) please let me know what your blog address is!
God bless...
