UPDATE: In a statement released today, Sarah Palin undoubtedly addresses comments like the ones that have been left here regarding her family. "You need to know that both Levi and Bristol are working their butts off to parent and going to school and working at the same time," Palin told PEOPLE in a phone message Wednesday. "They are certainly not high school dropouts." To read more, see this link.
The Drudge Report is running a nifty little survey, eliciting readers to choose between the shirtless Obama and the bare chested Putin. Presumably, there is some comparison between Obama's man-child build and Putin's KGB-hardened physique. But, what is most interesting to me are the continued comparisons between Obama and the world's radical collectivists. I suppose the liberal Obamagastic media can't help itself as it continues to celebrate B. Hussein Obama in the most radical and anti-American terms. Oh, by-the-way, the photo of BO was staged at his rented 30 million dollar compound in Hawaii. I'm curious, where is the "service and sacrifice" during this economic crisis of (BO's words, not mine) depression era proportions? To all of my fellow Americans who are jobless, how does it feel to see your president elect cavorting extravagantly in the sun and fun?
One final note. Bone-Head Joe Biden cranked up the gaffe machine on Larry King Live last night and back peddled on Obama's capability to live up to the world's expectations. It seems that the Messiah isn't quite as omnipotent as was once thought.
Well, scurry on over to Drudge and cast your vote! I did. Apparently, Putin is ahead in the Collectivist With The Best Chest poll. I picked Putin, at least he has the balls to own up to his Marxism.
By anyone's measure, Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. deserves the cover of Time magazine and the appellation, "Person Of The Year." The amazing charade that will lead him to the White House is deserving of the media aristocracy's accolades. Obama, and his band of shadow warriors, pulled off a magic trick that would have inspired Houdini. You can read the orgiastic description of the King of Cool within the fetid pages of Time for yourself. However, Obama's plans for our economic future remain insipid and enigmatic. We are promised an enlightened program of infrastructure revitalization. A deliverance of biblical proportion, with a near-trillion dollar price tag, from a crisis as severe as the great depression! Never mind that the actual economic reality is more akin to a serious recession. And, oh be still the heart, the great BO promises us faster and more available internet! Idiocy!
Time has chosen to use an image of Obama in the style and composition of Stalinist propaganda, how apropos. I discussed this topic at length in an earlier post. Apparently, it's really cool to associate with tyrants and psychopathic terrorists. Of course, this is nothing new for the Islamocentric man-child. He has long since made his bed with Chicago thugs and Pakistani subversives.
However, what most disturbs me is the subtle way in which Obama is attempting to recast the language describing American capitalism. In Obama's comments today, he described capitalistic activity as "a culture of greed and scheming." He proposed a false argument, that our economic difficulties are the result of lack of regulation and oversight. Obama attempts to make capitalism and the free market the culprit. Obama's manipulation is Orwellian in nature. In Orwell's book, 1984, Big Brother imposed an insidious form of totalitarian control by engineering a sanitized language, making it impossible to formulate heretical thoughts against the Party. This new language was termed Ingsoc, or English Socialism. Its essence is reductionist and manipulative. Obama, in Orwellian fashion, attempts to reinterpret capitalism through his own brand of Ingsoc: selfishness. It is revelatory of Obama's Marxist tendency, wherein he attempts to foist upon the free market the doctrine of "fairness", the Insoc version of equality of economic outcome. Our economy has been "pre-socialized" by Democrats in Congress and by turn-coat Republicans. Obama has only to extend the deleterious grasp of central planning. He will do so by redefining what it means to be an American Capitalist. Guard your thoughts, the Ministry of Truth is here.
What I didn't hear being discussed in the mainstream media, however, was first-how quickly the President dodged that shoe! and second-how gracious he was in spite of the insult. He played it calm, cool and collected and I am pretty sure I know why.
Here in this country, having a pair of shoes hurled at you would be a pretty mild thing compared to the treatment he and others have received since the beginning of his administration. It's been relentless and ongoing. Who knows what will happen to the ungrateful bastard who threw the shoes, and really, who cares? What goes around comes around, and if our troops are pulled out of there early like the incoming administration intends, he'll be back under a dictator soon enough, and perhaps long for the day when he had the freedom to speak his mind. If those in the media who've been so complimentary of this reporter would move to Iraq, I think most of America wouldn't know they've gone. Good riddance.
Pardon all the posts lacking any news content these last few days. I have been sick, and have just been sharing some fun things that I thought would bring some laughs this Christmas season. I got the following sentiments in an email this morning, and had to share. While to me this is ridiculously funny, it's a sad fact that there are many who take it very seriously and are greatly offended by common sense.
Read on....
To all of my Democrat friends:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an
It's always fun to see what Barney's up to at Christmas. I can only imagine he's quite the handful for those who live in the White House! Enjoy!
Perhaps, as you hurry out to finish your Christmas shopping this week, you'd like to take a gander at the stores that refuse to use the phrase "Merry Christmas". See this link for the list the American Family Association has compiled.
In light of the recent campaign and the seething of most liberals when the name "Sarah Palin" is mentioned, where is the outrage at the obvious hate crime that has been perpetrated on her home church? In this story, Tom Blumer points out that the story remains buried in the MSM, for the most part, while an AP reporter gets the 'gratuitous' dig in as she reported the story.
So, I ask, where's the outrage in the media over this incident? Why isn't it a major headline? Sarah Palin has remained in the headlines for everything under the sun, including continued stories about that ridiculous clothing story they won't give a rest, but her home church nearly burns to the ground and...where did that coverage go? Where's President Elect Obama offering his sentiments?
Oh, one more thing....anyone heard from Joe Biden recently?
On Friday, December 12th, Governor Palin's home church, Wasilla Bible Church, was damaged by fire. The authorities estimate the damage to be at $1 million, and are investigating it as an arson. No one was injured in the fire, although there were a few people inside the church at the time the fire was set. (including children)
Sarah's spokesman, Bill McAllister, said "Whatever the motives of the arsonist, the governor has faith in the scriptural passage that what was intended for evil will in some way be used for good."
Please keep the Wasilla Bible Church family in your prayers during this difficult time. To read further details, follow this link. To donate to Wasilla Bible Church, follow this link.
There are few in this world that are as well spoken or as accomplished as the author and senior fellow at the Hoover Institute, Thomas Sowell. His writings continue to educate both my husband and myself, and his latest article over at Townhall is one of the best explanations I have ever seen of "Freedom and the Left". I encourage you to follow the link and read. You will be very glad you did.
It's been a crazy month since the election. Many of us were so relieved it was over, whatever the outcome. We all worked very hard, and someone had to win. Unfortunately for us, it wasn't our guy/gal...there's always next time. Elections have consequences, and because our party failed to deliver, we must suffer those consequences. I fear there will be many. Our focus here, and on the various networks we've become a part of, is on rebuilding the conservative movement. Yes, this is a Sarah Palin blog to the core, and since Sarah is a conservative, I think it's pretty important that we cover all things conservative and take a look at the opposing side pretty often, as well. I believe that's just what Sarah would like for us to do. So, to those of you who frequently comment that we shouldn't talk about anything but Sarah, that's just...well....ignorant. There are many among the masses (who have been foaming at the mouth since she was nominated and suffer a serious case of PDS) that wish to know what makes Sarah Palin and other conservatives "tick". We intend, over the next couple of years, to try and enlighten our readers who wish to know more, and to help strengthen those who already think like we do. I am very excited about the future of this blog, and more importantly the future of our party. I encourage you to stay tuned often. We are always adding new content in some way. We won't be posting several times a day most days, like we were during the election, but we are always finding new articles for the "Informative Reading" section, getting new comments for our "Bellevue" section (for those few who have written--as expected--to criticize that section: Bellevue is a place that treats the mentally ill in NYC. Since many who comment here seem to fit that category, we made a special place just for them. If they are going to come here and leave the crazy comments we have seen, then they deserve a special place all to themselves), and adding noteworthy blogs to our blogroll.
As always, we thank you for taking the time to stop by, and we hope that you will take the time this holiday season to ponder the true meaning of Christmas.
This week, Walters aired her "Ten Most Fascinating People" for 2008, and Rush is among them. Rush loves Sarah Palin, and we LOVE Rush! Congrats Rush, for 20 great years as America's top conservative "Dr. of Democracy" and for making Walter's Top Ten, for what it's worth. ;-) Press on! (for those of you who are libs: be sure to pause the splashcast window on the right of your screen before clicking on the link below--lil' Rush humor there) To see Michelle Malkin's piece on "Rush bashers", see this link.
It has been thirty days since Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.'s acceptance speech, where thousands gathered at Grant Park to hear the beatific rhetoric spill from the Messiah's lips like golden wafers of manna. Oprah played the role of "The Madonna" quite convincingly, her pious visage upturned and streaked with a river of sanctimonious tears. But, what has transpired since the moment of transfiguring glory? Vapidity.
Today, the news services are reporting that the unemployment rate has risen to 6.7% with a reported 533 thousand jobs lost last month. Such a rate of decline, for a single month, has not occurred in 34 years. The mindless Obamabot reaction to this information is to level blame on the current administration. However, the Bush boom added an estimated five million jobs to the economy. Cries of a "jobless recovery" were silenced early during the Bush economic recovery, despite the catastrophe of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
What we are witnessing today is a response to what American business anticipates as an Obama led increase in corporate tax rates. As was predicted, the suggestion of increasing taxes on business merely results in business adopting a defensive posture, cutting jobs, and passing on costs to consumers when possible. These job losses are merely anticipatory. The pressure on the middle class will only worsen once Obama and his politburo are in power. Only thirty days from Obama's election and we are experiencing the worst month of layoffs in 34 years! Who's paying forward on Obama's liberal rhetoric now? The middle class.
But what of the Office Of The President Elect? What words of wisdom flow from the fount of economic hope and change? Apparently, what we need are better roads and bridges. Obama issued a statement today in response to the staggering increase in joblessness. BO's brilliant response to unemployment? The transformation of highly skilled American workers into a cadre of ditch diggers. It seems that the answer to our unemployment woes are to be found in a 1930's style Civil Works Administration.
FDR managed to spend a billion dollars on that boondoggle in only five months. Or, maybe Obama will plagiarize another program from FDR's playbook and devise a modern Civilian Conservation Corps? Well, I suppose we could use a few more parks. Where is the Obama brain trust with all the new and fresh ideas for an American utopia? Obama also blathered on about developing green resources and other such nonsense. A tip of the hat to the Eco-Fascists. And, how that relates to our current unemployment rate is anyone's guess. Obama also threw a bone to the public school system. These statements must issue from some labyrinthine collective of boilerplate writers, only passing before Obama for a cursory review and signature. I think we'll all be too exhausted from shoveling our way out from under a massive pile of BO's steaming rhetoric to provide much in the way of community service.
Simply put, Obama continues to fail to provide any specific plan to address this country's economic difficulties. What is worse, he fails to provide American business with any indications that would establish some sense of certainty. All we hear from the Office Of The President Elect are platitudes and campaign trail rhetoric. What's the fix for the unemployment problem? Cut taxes on American business. It really is that simple.
I accidentally "trashed" a comment from someone (I can't remember who) today around 12:30 p.m. eastern. Tami didn't get a chance to see the comment and, since I know she'd really appreciate your kind words, I'd like to encourage the commenter to "re-comment!" You referenced your response to the liberals that come here with the phrase, "Delete, Delete, Delete!" So, if you know who you are out there, please forgive my bungling and rewrite your thoughts. Thanks again!
The nomination of Sarah Palin to the Republican Vice Presidential ticket in August was a huge leap forward for conservative women in America. It seems, however, that the "feminist movement" on the left that has lectured us all these years on women's rights has, all by itself, taken a huge leap backwards.
Feminism is defined by Wikipediaas the belief of the political, social, and economic equality of women. On the left, the feminist movement is a broad movement that includes a diverse group of women who hold a radical pro-abortion agenda that appears to drive everything else they strive for. On the right, the movement primarily consists of women who have a sincere desire to promote women's issues while continuing to embrace our religious beliefs, our families, and our femininity.
Having never been too outwardly involved in politics before the 2008 election, I was shocked at the fury directed at Sarah Palin by feminists on the left from the very moment she stepped into the arena. It was at that moment that, in my opinion, the feminist movement on the left completely discredited itself. The movement that seemed to want a female in a position of authority at any cost suddenly began foaming at the mouth because a CONSERVATIVE woman was nominated, one who believes in life.
These so called "feminists" say that being a woman is more than just being a mom at home with the kids. The say that they believe that a woman is every bit as qualified as a man to hold a political office. They believe that premarital sex is completely okay and that we should not try to stop young people from having sex, but instead we should deal with it by teaching sex education in schools. They believe that when the young woman gets pregnant, we should not stand in her way, at any age, of killing her unborn baby-no matter what stage in the pregnancy she decides to do so.
Now, I don’t know about you, but what I have heard in the media these last few months from the feminists who oppose Sarah Palin seems to be completely in contrast to everything they say they believe! They have repeatedly trashed Sarah for wanting to become VP while having 5 children, one who is a special needs child. They suggest she is a horrible mother for having considered such a position, saying she is incapable of being both a mother and a VP. They have suggested that, because her daughter had premarital sex and got pregnant, Sarah and Todd are bad parents. Most egregious, however, are the criticisms of Sarah for not choosing to abort her son Trig. On all counts, their comments have been incredibly hypocritical.
I have said it before, and it bears repeating: Sarah Palin IS everything the radical left wing feminists are NOT. She is a gorgeous, feminine, God-fearing wife and mother who values life and stands for what is good and right. She represents the vast majority of women in America who hold these same values. I think I speak for most conservative women when I say that for us it wasn't about getting a woman in office. For me, conservative, moral values come first. Party, gender and all the rest comes next. I am most excited about Sarah because of her stand on the issues, and all that goes with it. I love that she happens to be a woman, and I am very excited to see what the future has in store for CONSERVATISM and for conservative women who now feel empowered like never before! We are no longer the silent majority, and we have our own Sarah Palin to thank.
