The Sarah Palin Rally

The rally at The Villages on Sunday, the 21st of September was unlike anything I have ever experienced. As I said last evening, we arrived on Main St. to get in line for the secure area (just in front of the stage and behind the stage) about 9 a.m. We waited in that line for about 3 hours, and during that time met some wonderful people. I was amazed at the diversity of the crowd. In front of us were a large group of University of Florida students, all with handmade signs in support of Palin-and boy, were they an enthusiastic group! Just behind us were several mother/daughter pairs, some older, some younger. I met single girls that had come alone, I met elderly couples and families, Democrats that will be voting Republican for the first time in their lives, Republicans and Independents! I was so encouraged with what I saw! If you want to be energized like you never have been for your party, I encourage you to attend an event such as this! We got into the secure area around 12:00 p.m. and stood in the sweltering heat for another 4 1/2 hours. We were very blessed to be among the first people in the gates, securing a spot just behind the barriers where we would later see Sarah. During our wait we heard from several state and local politicians, Aaron Tippin sang a few tunes, and finally Governor Palin and her family arrived. My first impression of Sarah was this: she is a strikingly gorgeous woman. I thought she was pretty before, but in person she is even more beautiful-the pictures do not do her justice. She first said her hello’s and then handed a microphone to her daughter Piper who was as adorable as ever and thanked the crowd for a fun visit to FL! (they had been to Disney on Saturday) Sarah then recognized all military personnel, both past and present, and gave a wonderful speech which I am sure many of you got to see on the news. The crowd, estimated to be between 60,000 and 70,000 people (by the way, there were approximately 2,500 people at Biden's event in Jacksonville), was energetic and constantly chanted Sa-rah! Sa-rah! It was a blast! After her speech, she exited the stage right in front of us and began shaking hands and giving autographs. Although we got to shake her hand and get two hats autographed, we never got to speak to her. The crowd began going crazy when they realized she was giving autographs, and we were getting crushed...so my hubby grabbed me and our daughter and we elbowed our way out!

Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we'd do it again in a heartbeat. I am more convinced than ever that John McCain made a very wise choice in Sarah Palin and that she is most certainly going to shake things up in Washington! I have seen, on other websites, the crowd in FL being made fun of for standing so long in the heat waiting for Sarah and for chanting her name. As for chanting her name, I guess those people have never been to a political rally. We were all about to pass out from the heat and we began chanting her name to let them know we wanted to see HER! The campaign graciously gave out water as fast as they could, and it seemed that they got her there as quickly as they could. As for the long wait, I can only speak for myself when I say that our family wanted to hear Sarah speak because she stands for everything we believe in. We wanted to be a part of what will be a historical event when she becomes the first female VP of the United States. She is about as genuine as it gets, and we were thrilled that we, along with our 9 year old daughter,  got to be some small part of this memorable occasion.

**As a side note, I read on News Busters where CNN again criticized Palin for using a teleprompter during her speech at the Villages. I don't know where they get off criticizing anyone for using a teleprompter in front of 60,000 people, however, I was about 10 feet from her, and I can tell you this: I don't know where CNN was sitting, but from where I was standing there was no teleprompter usage!!! She had her notes, and she used those! There were teleprompters, but many of us commented that if she was using them, it sure wasn't noticeable to anyone close by! Just thought you'd be interested to hear that from someone who WAS right there and payed attention.

NBC’s 'Saturday Night Live' Suggests Todd Palin Sexually Abuses His Daughters

On Saturday night, September 20th, NBC reached an all time low when the show “Saturday Night Live” performed a skit in which a group of reporters were discussing the campaign and they began talking about the incestual relationship Todd Palin has with his three daughters. They make it clear that they are suggesting that Todd Palin has sex with his daughters.

In my opinion, this is just another nail in the coffin for NBC. They already are obviously in the tank for Obama, and that they allowed a skit like this to go on the air is outrageous.

You will see a link at the right of this screen where you can send your comments to NBC. I have done so, and I highly recommend that you do so as well.

Sweatin' For Sarah

Well, girls, I am proud to say that Sarah Palin made her first visit to Florida today, and me and my family were there to be a part of this historic event! We got in line about 9 this morning to get into the secure area. We made it in to that area about noon, got a spot just to the left of the podium in the front, and waited for 4 1/2 LONG AND VERY HOT hours. Temperatures had to be soaring near 100 today, but the 7 hours of waiting were completely worth it when Sarah, Todd, Piper, Trig and Willow finally made it to the stage! I don't have much energy left to write much about the events this evening, but I wanted to share a few pictures of the over 200 that we took today. I will be sharing many more in the days to come. We met many amazing people-men, women, children, students, democrats...you name it they were here! We had a wonderful time, and I can't wait to tell you all about it!

Photographer Fired for Slandering McCain

You may have heard about the pictures that photgrapher Jill Greenburg took of Senator McCain in a recent photo shoot for "The Atlantic" Magazine. After Greenburg took the pictures she went her blog and began bragging about how she made him look so terrible.

Below is an update
by Marcia Segelstein, One News Now

"The photographer hired by ‘The Atlantic Magazine’ to photograph John McCain has admittted that she lied and tricked John McCain in order to make him look as bad as possible. According to
NewsBusters, Jill Greenberg "used her position to trick him into a situation where she could use his image for political attacks at a later date."

‘The Atlantic’ says they will no longer employ her, and she has just been let go by her photo agency.

And who says media professionals use their positions to further their own political views?"

Democrats Play the Race Card

I know, this is a forbidden subject...but if Tyra Banks and Oprah can talk about race and racism then so can this “lazy housewife”. (as I’ve been referred to in the media)

From the beginning of this presidential election process, Barack Obama has played the race card. Bill and Hillary Clinton have played the race card. DEMOCRATS have played the race card. Up until now, I would hear the garbage being spewed on this subject, and just roll my eyes considering the source. However, today when I heard it suggested that if “they” do not vote for Obama, it’s because he’s black, that sent me right on over the edge! (I suppose "they" refers to anyone either not a Democrat or not of the same color as Obama)

Let me tell you something. If I think you’re an idiot, it has nothing to do with your skin color. You could have purple skin and you might be the nicest person alive or, in Barack Obama’s case, he has black skin and he’s a disgrace, a political thug, and an elitist pig. There, I said it. It has NOTHING to do with the color of his skin. I base my opinion solely on the merits, and his don’t measure up.
What they are suggesting is that there are two options for voters in November: vote for Obama because you’re not racist, or don’t vote for him and you’re a racist. They are simply trying to bully the American people into voting for Obama based on race. It is insulting, and if he’d ever been someone I considered voting for, he would have lost my vote after the rhetoric I've heard the last few months, and primarily the last few days.

"Obama is stoking racism", says Rush Limbaugh, after Obama ran an ad that took comments about Mexicans by Rush completely out of context. Now Rush Limbaugh may not be your cup of tea, but I can tell you this after listening to the man for 20 years, he is no racist. I heard the two shows that Obama misrepresented in those spanish only ads, and I can tell you for sure that the Obama camp is lying and trying to bait the Hispanic population. His campaign is trying to pit the many races of the American people against each other. He cannot talk about himself based on the facts, so instead, he rips others to shreds and has yet to answer questions about many of his associations, many of the “bills” he says he wrote but didn’t, and so on.

This may come as a huge surprise, but I am NOT voting for Obama/Biden on November 4th. I am NOT a racist. I will NOT vote for Obama because he is a socialist. I will NOT vote for Obama because he will raise taxes. I will NOT vote for Obama because he believes not only in abortion, but infanticide. I will NOT vote for Obama because he chooses to associate with the likes of William Ayers, Louis Farrakhan, and his notorious racist former Pastor Jeremiah Wright. I will NOT vote FOR Barack Obama, and as much as they'd like to blame it on race, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the color of his skin.

I hardly think this is the “change” that this country needs.

More about the AP Poll on race.
