Sarah Palin's Statement On Healthcare

From Sarah's Facebook page today:
As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we’re saying not just no, but hell no!

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.

Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors.

We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, “Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.” Let’s stop and think and make our voices heard before it’s too late.

Tami,
I thought I would take this opportunity to make a comment on recent news about Sarah Palin. I have been watching the three segments on PJTV, and I would like to offer my take on two matters, the resignation, and her future.

First, the resignation: The Democrat attack-dogs, and one individual in particular, had forced her into a catch-22 situation, whereby her time was being taken up inordinately by the “ethics violation” allegations (something like 80%) that she was unable to perform her normal duties of government. Yes, there was the financial aspect, but mostly it was the time-consuming preoccupations of all this nonsense. And then by giving these allegations their proper attention the charge became that she was ignoring her gubernatorial responsibilities! So she reasoned, that Alaskans deserve better than this, as she said in her statement when she announced her resignation.

Second, her future: Another reason for her resignation was that, having tasted thee national scene, and noting her growing popularity (as with a host of websites all over the Net), she wants to make her contribution at that level. However, she is a grass-roots politician, who ignores the “beltway”, couldn’t give a fig about the MSM, and reaches out to the common people in the “flyover zone”.

One of the reasons the MSM fairly hates her proverbial guts sheets back to that line in her Convention speech last Sept, “Here’s a little newsflash: I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion. I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this great country!” That sent shivers up their spine, but a reverberation quite the opposite of the Chris Matthews variety! This woman had not only to be silenced, but utterly destroyed. They then painted her as an airhead, a hillbilly, a fool etc., by fair means and mostly foul. For instance, the all important segment of the Couric interview was when asked about foreign policy she gave a reasonable answer, but in the editorial process it was cut, and another unrelated segment was juxtaposed to her reply, making her look like a blubbering fool. The real story comes out in the Zeigler doco, but even the commentators on PJTV missed this, and one can see this in the edited version if one looks carefully: there is a brief pause for a few milliseconds, then Sarah’s head is in a slightly different position. Oh, the MSM knew very well that she was highly competent, and had made her mark very decidedly in a short time. In particular, she was a known, and successful, corruption fighter. That was precisely what sent them ballistic with fear: they knew that if she got hold of the reins of power – any sort of power – then their game was up, they were headed for the scrapheap, and that could not be tolerated.

And now she is determined to fight back, and here I agree with Bill Whittle on PJTV: she sees the Tea Party movement, a grassroots, spontaneous movement, which right now lacks leadership. After an August holiday she will step right into the middle of it, give it that leadership, weld it into a genuine people’s movement, and lead it all the way to Pennsyvlania Avenue. So Leftists and Liberals – watch out! Sarah Palin has only just begun, and she will put the wind up you like you have never imagined. She will become your worst nightmare – and daymare!

....only this time, America will latch onto her for Hope and Change and she won't even have to mention those two words....because her actions speak louder than empty teleprompter words.
